A WOMEN’S RETREAT
SEPTEMBER 4-7, 2020
ANGEL VALLEY RETREAT CENTER
SEDONA, ARIZONA
With
Brenda Littleton, Tina Benson & Kerani Marie Lomonaco
Join us to experience the majesty of Sedona and the intimate pauses of holy joy as you discover The Art of Sacred Selfishness
What is “The Art of Sacred Selfishness?” What if it is not only permissible, but necessary to our wellbeing, and to the wellbeing of those we love, that we learn how to value and prioritize ourselves, care for our own needs, and manifest our desires? What if it is permissible, and in fact even sacred and holy, to indulge doing the things that give us pleasure and joy, even when we have a laundry list of things we need to accomplish?
• It is time that “selfishness” lose its negative connotations for us as women.
• It is time for us to redefine the word and reclaim it as an act of sacred self-love and self-care.
• It is time for us to understand that self-betrayal and self-abandonment no longer serve us, or our world. Our sacred obligation is to learn to love ourselves more fully and deeply than we ever have before.
During this three day retreat you will experience rituals, embodied movement, creative expression and learn new skills and information to:
• Cultivate The Art of Sacred Selfishness.
• Discover the Hummingbird Way of choosing joy.
• Use self-help tools and practices to integrate the emotional, somatic & spiritual parts of yourself.
• Learn how to create a personal daily healing program to heal body, heart, mind & soul.
• Listen to the Corn Mother’s Full Moon message of abundance.
• Tend to your dreams. Make your mandala.
• Learn how suffering from toxic relationships is a wake-up call for life-long healing.
• Bring your spirit medicine into life through a wisdom doll.
As women, many of us learned to subordinate our needs to attend to the needs of others. At an early age, we learned in order to attain love, approval, and acceptance, we had to abandon ourselves, and abdicate our true, inner power. We made others’ needs more important than our own. Identity, self-worth, and validation came from outside sources. Being productive usurped living one’s purpose. No matter how productive we were, we still did not allow into our life what we love and desire. We are often the last item on our own “To Do” list, if we are even on the list at all!
Through the use of embodied movement practices, you will learn to:
• Listen, trust, and follow the ever-changing, moment-by-moment wisdom and impulses of your loving soul.
• Have direct contact with your deepest longings, and begin to move forward in life fully congruent with your truth and highest calling.
• Align with your soul wisdom to feel fully alive, vital, creative, and free.
Learning the practices of radical self-acceptance allows us to meet ourselves right where we are, in all of our human imperfections, messiness, and unfinishedness, with unconditional love and compassion. When we hold ourselves with relentless self-acceptance, the “inner critic” is lovingly replaced with inner compassion, allowing us to move more freely in our lives, and to be more gentle and forgiving not only with ourselves, but with others as well.
During this retreat you will:
• Gain understandings of patterns & pathways out of toxic relationships.
• Learn how to identify deep requests from the Soul to actively balance old ego-cultural conditioning.
• Create a new body of conscious experiences, integrating Jungian modalities of mandalas, active imagination, and dream tending.
An introduction to attachment theory, polyvagal nervous system, and early childhood compensatory patterns are integrated into a deeper animistic reverence for the intimate pauses of holy joy in daily life. Emotional grace, somatic relief, and presence of Self are explored within the weekend workshop.
We invite you to shed your everyday identities and step into another knowing, informed by the beauty of Mother Earth’s red rocks, the brilliance of the starlit skies of Sedona, and the running water of Oak Creek.
This retreat calls to women who want to rendezvous with their true inner power and deepen the rich relationship between yourself and Soul. No matter what your circumstances, you can elevate your joy, passion and creativity. You can dream a new dream as you walk the labyrinth.
Loving yourself is more than a cliché, it is the Radical Art of Sacred Selfishness.
